8 Seconds Saloon 111 N Lynhurst Dr Indianapolis IN Map (317) 486-1569
Alternative Rock, Country, Hip-Hop & Rap, Rock & Pop
Located on the west side of town, this warehouselike complex has a gigantic dance floor where hundreds of people line up to two-step. Cowboy boots and gritty machismo are never in short supply but the atmosphere is always fun and friendly. When national country acts or rockers like Eddie Money or the Fixx come to Indy, this is where they play. |

Benchwarmers 3850 DePauw Blvd Indianapolis IN Map (317) 871-5655
Bar/Club
With walls covered in sports memorabilia, comfy oversized booths and a menu that specializes in hand patted grilled burgers it's easy to see why sports fans are attracted to this spacious sports-minded location. Big screen TVs broadcasting live sports action, two professional grade billiards tables and a wall lined with electronic dart machines only adds to the entertainment options. The menu includes typical grub; grilled burgers and fried appetizers. |
 |
Blue Cactus 20 N Pennsylvania St Indianapolis IN (317) 638-2100
Alternative Rock, Jazz, Latin, Rock & Pop
Billiard tables and live music attract the after-work crowd, downtowners and late-night revelers, while Sunday's poetry open mic draws a quieter clique. Divided from the gaming and dancing action by the bar, tables and private booths offer a more secluded option for dinner or drinks. Aztec suns and mud sculptures punctuate colorful Southwest decor in the South American Latin bar where patrons dance to salsa music or enjoy Caribbean fare, like spicy jerked chicken wings. |

CT Peppers Ltd. 6283 N College Ave Indianapolis IN (317) 257-6277
Rock & Pop, Techno & Industrial
Big-screen TVs and a dark smoky sports-pub atmosphere linger, but gone are the cozy booths and the intriguing aquarium. When it went from pub to club, Peppers closed its kitchen. Instead of beefy burgers and super-sized salads, the offerings (which come from Pizza Pasta, Etc. next door) include wings, meal-sized pizza by the slice, subs, and a limited range of pasta dishes. Like typical fast-food pizza joints, the fare is passable and generously portioned, served in disposable containers. But the selection is limited and the quality variable, while the service is almost always indifferent |
